Misty Meadows Farm
Having worked in business for 38 years and approaching retirement, Doug Stewart knew it was time for a change. After more than a year of searching high and low he found his perfect spot in beautiful St. Joseph’s in the summer of 1981 and then expanded to 72 acres in 1990.
Named after his beloved pony, Misty, Misty Meadows Farm became his escape from the world of business and his love for the land grew just like the farm itself. Misty herself passed away at the age of 38, having seen all of his children and grandchildren grow up. Doug continues to remember his beloved pony through the other animals he keeps on the farm.
Having to start from scratch, Doug has had the chance to meticulously plan out every aspect of Misty Meadows Farm and takes great pride in it’s steady growth. In 2016 he began expanding a small vegetable plot and has continued that tradition every year since. By the summer of 2019 he was selling produce to his neighbours and in 2020 decided to branch out ever further and begin advertising the bounty from his garden to the wider community.
